Jeremy Avis

Project Co-ordinator

Jeremy has degrees in psychology and anthropology from Oxford University. He has worked as a development consultant for the European Union in Africa and brings this experience to the creation of new socially effective musical projects. He has created projects with social workers in the Middle East, and has recently been working in hospitals as voice trainer and composer with stroke survivors. He

is also musical director of Bristol Voices and has conducted groups of singers all over the world including in USA, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Italy. He has been musical director and singer in numerous theatre productions including Othello, The Merchant of Venice  and The Orphan of Zhao for the RSC at Shakespeare's Globe and As You Like It and Emperor and Gallilean at the National Theatre.

Rebecca Askew

Project Co-ordinator

Rebecca has over twenty years experience as a vocal animateur in a wide range of social settings. She has successfully led projects with Glyndebourne Education, Sing Up, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Science Museum, National Portrait Gallery and English National Opera, to name but a few. She is also a regular visiting lecturer at Chichester University. She is the musical director of the Whispering Woods choir, a group only performs outdoors in beautiful natural settings. She was a  member of the award-winning  "vocal big band" The Shout, where she met Jeremy.  

As a performer, she mainly sings new music or jazz. She has recently sung on stage in productions at Shakespeare's Globe (Eyam), the National Theatre (As You Like It) and the Regents Park Open Air Theatre (PeterPan).
